Holotype. PERU. Pachitea, no other data. Male (ZMPA).

Diagnosis. Dorsal surface dark brown except for yellow lateral margins of pronotum, yellow humeri and yellow mediolateral patches on the elytra; elytral coloration very similar to that of Brasilycus bolivianus Nascimento et Bocakova, 2010 , which has a transverse median yellow band; phallus of B. peruanus sp. nov. in distal third as thick (measured dorsoventrally) as paramerae in lateral view.

Description. Whole body and dorsal surface dark brown, except for yellow lateral margins of pronotum, humeral and mediolateral spots of elytra, trochanters, bases of femora, and antennomere 11 ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Eyes medium-sized, distance between eyes 1.3x longer than maximal eye diameter. Maxillary palpi dark brown, only palpomere 1 yellow. Labial palpi brown. Terminal palpomeres of both palpi apically pointed. Antennae serrate, reaching elytral 2/3, antennomere 3 as long as 4 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Pronotum ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) 1.5x wider than long, provided with median longitudinal carina forming minute areola basally, posterior angles of pronotum projected obliquely backwards. Elytra elongate, 3.2x longer than humeral width. Each elytron with 3 longitudinal costae, costa 1 absent in distal quarter. Male genitalia ( Figs 4-6 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) with paramerae longer than half length of phallus, tapered distally, phallus broad dorsoventrally in distal third. Body length: 5.8 mm, humeral width: 1.5 mm.

Remark. Left antennomeres 7–11 of the holotype missing.
