Etymology. The species name alludes to the district Ri-Bhoi of Meghalay from where it has been collected. It is a noun in apposition.

Remarks. Externally this species is similar to P. ereba in coloration and structure but has entirely different male genitalia. It resembles P. neoattenuata in male genitalia especially in the shape of the subgenital plates and the aedeagus but differs in lacking the dorsal keel on the aedeagal shaft found in P. neoattenuata and has dorsolateral margins of the aedeagal shaft rimlike visible in lateral view. Some specimens also have been collected in a yellow pan trap.
