Holotype: MTD D8222, according to Obst (1976:43 and Obst 1977:182) and Thomson et al. (2015:67– 68; including photograph); sampled genetically by Kehlmaier et al. (2019); listed as MTD 47 by Schüz (1929:5). Goode’s (1967:62–63) speculation that MSNG CE8605 was a syntype (see also Boulenger 1888) is in error ( Obst 1976).
