Range: —At disjunct localities from northern Peru and Bolivia (BE, CH, LP, SC, TA) to northwestern Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil.
Ecology: —Common; terrestrial in deciduous and semihumid forests, often on open, steep slopes; 200–1500 m.
Notes: —Variable in blade dissection, either some pinnae 1(2)-pinnate, or several pinnae lobed, or all pinnae entire and then the proximal pinnae cordate and long-stalked.
