185. Macrobiotus sawayai Marcus, 1937 sensu lato [T]

Macrobiotus sawayai sp. n. ( Marcus, 1937)

Terra typica: Brazil (South America)

Brazil:

• 23°33′S, 46°40′W; 750 m asl: São Paulo State, Pacaembu, mosses on trees. Marcus (1937)

Record numbers: Brazil: 1; total: 1.

Remarks: The species, currently restricted to Brazil, has been omitted from modern taxonomic literature since Ramazzotti (1962b) though is still included in species lists (e.g. Assunçäo 1999). As the taxonomic position is uncertain Macrobiotus sawayai requires a redescription (indeed, drawings suggested it should be attributed to the genus Minibiotus ).
