Etymology. The specific name is a colloquial term for a native of Costa Rica, and is masculine in gender.

Diagnosis. Both sexes resemble similar congeners Nops campeche n. sp. and Nops largus by having a similar dorsal abdominal pattern; but can be distinguished by having short unpaired claws on posterior legs. Males with a strongly curved and retrolaterally twisted embolus ( Fig. 40J‒L View FIGURE 40 ) and females with wide invagination on receptaculum ( Figs 40G‒I View FIGURE 40 ; 41F).

Description. Male (holotype): Carapace dark orange. Chelicerae, palps and legs orange; coxae and trochanters lighter ( Fig. 41A View FIGURE 41 ). Endites, labium and sternum light orange. Abdomen green grayish with the most common pattern as in figure 6I. Anal tubercle and spinnerets lighter than abdomen. Total length 7.6. Carapace 4.6 long, 3.0 wide. Sternum 2.9 long, 2.6 wide. Leg measurements: I: 3.6; II: 3.5; III: 3.0; IV: 3.8. Posterior unpaired claws short but reflexed anteriorly ( Fig. 40F View FIGURE 40 ). PLS longer than PMS. Palp with embolus shorter than palpal tibia, strongly curved and retrolaterally twisted ( Fig. 40J‒L View FIGURE 40 ).

Female (paratype): Carapace, chelicerae, labium, legs, coxae, endites and sternum as in male. Abdomen as in male, but somewhat darker ( Fig. 41D View FIGURE 41 ). Anal tubercle and spinnerets lighter than abdomen. Total length 7.9. Carapace 4.8 long, 3.2 wide. Sternum 3.0 long, 2.8 wide. Leg measurements: I: 3.8; II: 3.7; III: 3.3; IV: 4.0. Posterior unpaired claws and PLS as in male. External genital area with strongly sclerotized anterior plate, strongly

sclerotized lep and remarkable ess ( Fig. 41E View FIGURE 41 ). Internal genitalia with wide invagination on receptaculum and uterus externus with narrow base ( Figs 40G‒I View FIGURE 40 ; 41F).
