Diagnosis. Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin ( Fig. 203 View FIGURE 203 ). Tegmina with five large asymmetric hyaline bands; hyaline bands without spots ( Fig. 203 View FIGURE 203 ); cell MP–CuA wide ( Fig. 203 View FIGURE 203 ). Mesobasisternum triangular, anteriorly straight; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally and posteriorly straight, forming a posterolateral blunt tip ( Fig. 202E View FIGURE 202 ). Metabasisternum triangular, anteriorly concave; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally straight, posteriorly convex, posterolaterally forming an angle of 90° ( Fig. 202E View FIGURE 202 ). Left stridulatory file curved ( Fig. 204A View FIGURE 204 ).
Description. Holotype Male.
Thorax. Mesobasisternum triangular, anteriorly straight; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally and posteriorly straight, forming a posterolateral blunt tip ( Fig. 202E View FIGURE 202 ). Metabasisternum triangular, anteriorly concave; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally straight, posteriorly convex, posterolaterally forming an angle of 90° ( Fig. 202E View FIGURE 202 ).
Wings. Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin ( Fig. 203 View FIGURE 203 ). Tegmina with five large asymmetric hyaline bands; hyaline bands without spots ( Fig. 203 View FIGURE 203 ); cell MP–CuA wide ( Fig. 203 View FIGURE 203 ). Left stridulatory file curved; basal teeth and apicals smaller ( Fig. 204A View FIGURE 204 ). Total file length of 3.1 mm, greater vein width of 0.5 mm and a total of 74 teeth. Rigth stridulatory file sinuose; teeth on basal half wider and sparser than teeth on apical half ( Fig. 204B View FIGURE 204 ). Total file length of 2.4 mm, greater vein width of 0.3 mm and a total of 70 teeth.
Legs. All femora ventrally with several small spines ( Figs. 202F–H View FIGURE 202 ).
Abdomen. Cercus curved inwards, with the apex not expanded ( Figs. 202I–K View FIGURE 202 ). Apex of cercus with small triangular projection with a dark brown color ( Fig. 202K View FIGURE 202 ). Stylus fusiform ( Fig. 202I View FIGURE 202 ). Apex of stylus not exceeding half of cercus length, in ventral view ( Fig. 202I View FIGURE 202 ).
Internal male genitalia. Ejaculatory vesicles reniform ( Figs. 205A–D View FIGURE 205 ). Upper folds of ventral lobe small, triangular and posteriorly convex ( Figs. 205A–B View FIGURE 205 ). Titillator process large and elongated ( Figs. 205A–D View FIGURE 205 ). Lower folds of ventral lobe large, bilobate, posteriorly convex and not exceeding the dorsal lobes ( Figs. 205A–B View FIGURE 205 ). Dorsal lobes anteriorly convex, laterally straight and posteriorly triangular ( Figs. 205A–D View FIGURE 205 ). Dorsal folds elongated and asymmetrical ( Figs. 205C–D View FIGURE 205 ).
Coloration. Based on photos of preserved specimen ( Fig. 202 View FIGURE 202 ). Body and tegmina yellowish green. Eyes dark brown. Dorso-lateral suture narrow and black.
Female. Unknown.
Etymology. The epithet is in apposition, uirapuru (wyra + purú) comes from the Brazilian indigenous language Tupi and is the popular name given to a group of Amazonian birds from the Troglodytidae , iconic for their complex song and therefore present in several Amazonian legends.
Distribution. Brazil: Amazonas ( Fig. 206 View FIGURE 206 ).
