Comments. As evidenced so far, four species of Albascopia are currently recognized. However, a pair of records from El Carmen de Atrato, Chocó, Colombia (Map 1), indicate the presence of a female that differs from all known species in the Colombian Pacific region (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/261544402, https://www. inaturalist.org/observations/261586075). This female is distinguished by its bright green coloration, which contrasts sharply with the black or dark brown hues observed in females of the other recognized species.
Further examination of specimens from this morphospecies is needed to verify and confirm its generic placement and specific identity. These findings suggest that many taxa within this peculiar insect family remain undiscovered and undescribed.
