Lutzomyia (Psychodopygus) panamensis (Shannon) : Young and Duncan 1994, 579 (references, taxonomy, distribution). Psychodopygus panamensis (Shannon) : Galati 2003, 121, 123 (list, keys).

Martins et al. (1978) mentioned its presence from the Municipality of Catemaco, locality undetermined. No specimens of Ps. panamensis were found during the field surveys conducted in this study.
