TYPE LOCALITY: Mongolia, Altai Gobi, Tsagan-Nur (Tsagaan Nuur) .

DISTRIBUTION: Deserts of S and W Mongolia ( Bannikov, 1954; Sokolov et al., 1981a; adjacent Chinese provinces of Nei Mongol, E Xinjiang, Ningxia ( Ma et al., 1987), Gansu ( Chen and Wang, 1985; Zheng and Zhang, 1990) and N Shaanxi (Wang, 1990).

COMMENTS: Subgenus Orientallactaga . Closely related to A. balikunica (see comments therein).
