Type. 1♂ (holotype), North-East Madagascar, near Maroantsetra, Ambodivoangy forest, 23–27 iii 1952, P. Viette leg.; Muséum Paris, Mission Viette, Sept. 1951 – March 1952; Lecithocera mocquerysella n. sp., Holotype ♂, P. Viette; genitalia: prep. P. Viette no. 2839.

Adult ( Figs. 16A, B View FIGURE 16 ). Wingspan, 11 mm. One of the smallest species of the genus. This species is characterized by the elongated forewing with gently arched antemedian band; oblique, yellowish-white postmedian band; and the distinct dark-brown discal spot; hind wing with M 3 merged with CuA 1. Abdomen have broad spinose zones on segments II to VII (dorsally).

Male genitalia ( Figs. 16C, D View FIGURE 16 ): See also the line drawing given by Viette (1955, Fig. 30). Uncus bifurcate, with slender, outwardly directed caudal lobes. Juxta deeply concave, into U-shape on caudal margin. Aedeagus stout, as long as valva; cornuti consisting of sickle-shaped sclerite and numerous spinules.

Remarks. This species was previously transferred to Thubdora by Park (2018), but is now assigned to Torodora , on account of its wing venation (characters of fore- and hind wings).
