Type. 1♂ (holotype), Central eastern Madagascar, near Périnet, alt. ca. 700 m [recte 910 m], Analamazoatra forest [recte Analamazaotra], [no date of capture], R. Decary leg.; 1921, Muséum Paris; Lecithocera decaryella n. sp., Holotype ♂; Type; genitalia: prep. P. Viette no. 2786.

Adult ( Figs. 7A, B View FIGURE 7 ). Wingspan, 17 mm. The main diagnostic characters of the species include the sharply produced apex of the forewing and the mustard-brown hind wing ground colour, and the juxta of male genitalia with long, club-shaped caudal processes. Abdomen ( Fig. 7E View FIGURE 7 ) have spinose zones, forming a narrow band along posterior margin from segment I to VII.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 7C, D View FIGURE 7 ): See also the line drawing given by Viette (1955, Fig. 29). Uncus extremely broad, about 1/3 width of tegumen. Valva broad basally, then narrowed; cucullus foot-shaped, densely setose. Juxta with long, clavate caudal lobes. Aedeagus stout, longer than valva.

Remarks. The species was previously transferred to Thubdora by Park (2018), but it is now assigned to this genus Torodora , due to the venations of both wings.

Distribution. Madagascar (East) ( Viette, 1955).
