Hemipristis Agassiz, 1835 View in CoL : pl. 27 (fig. 18–38). Type species: Hemipristis serra Agassiz, 1835 . Type by subsequent designation, based on a fossil type species. First appeared in 1835 in plate volume, as pl. 27, with a description following later in 1843: v. 3, pp. 237, 302. According to Fricke et al. (2020) authorship should be ascribed to Agassiz, 1835 and not 1843 as often dated.
