Dichomeris schoutedeniella (Ghesquière, 1940) View in CoL

Lecithocera schoutedeniella Ghesquière, 1940 — Annales du Musée du Congo belge, Zoologie, 7, 59.

Remarks. This species was described based on the female holotype collected in Ekwangatana, Uele, DR Congo. Park & De Prins (2019: 472, 473, fig. 15) transferred the species from Lecithocera to the gelechiid genus Dichomeris due to the female genital character which are very similar to those of the genus, especially the ductus seminalis arising from the corpus bursae. These authors also provided detailed information on the type specimen and illustrated its genitalia. The species is characterized by yellow antennae that is unique among Afrotropical species of Dichomeris . A very broad, irregularly sclerotized ductus bursae with indistinct transition to corpus bursae is characteristic for the female genitalia.

Host plant. Coffea robusta ( Rubiaceae ) ( Ghesquière 1940b).

Distribution. Cameroon, Ivory Coast, DR Congo: Orientale Province; Ghana ( Pujol 1961).
