Type material. Holotype, ♂, [ DR Congo] Musée du Congo, Lubumbashi, 9.vi.1934, Ch. Seydel | Type, G. ochrocorys | M 4874 | R. Det. R 3154 | Gelechia ochrocorys Mey. | gen. slide 220/24, O. Bidzilya ( RMCA).
Remarks. Gelechia ochrocorys was described based on the male holotype, whose external characters and genitalia match those of Armatophallus exoenota . Therefore, we herewith synonymize it with the latter species.
Distribution. The Gambia, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa ( Bidzilya 2015), DR Congo: Haut Ituri Province ( Meyrick, 1936).
