Material examined. Holotype: UMAR-PERA 579, non-ovigerous female, 7.4 mm (El Arrocito Beach, Huatulco, Oaxaca, dead coral, 1–2 m, May 23, 2007, coll. J. R. Bastida-Zavala et al.) . Paratypes: UMAR-PERA 580, nine ovigerous females, 15 non-ovigerous females, two mancae, same sampling location as the holotype.

Diagnosis. Body 12 times longer than wide, slightly pigmented. Antennula flagellum with five articles, article 2 with one aesthetasc, article 3 with three aesthetascs, articles 4 and 5 with two aesthetascs. Article 3 of mandibular palp with nine robust setae. Palm of pereopod 1 convex with row of marginal setae, mesial part with row of 17 short setae; carpus of pereopod 7 rectangular, internal margin with three sensory setae, mesial region with setulated scales; margin ventrodistal of propodus with three sensory spines. Telson linguiform, apex with 13 setae.

Description holotype (non-ovigerous female UMAR-PERA 579)

Body ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ) length 7.4 mm, about 12 times longer than wide, color yellow in alcohol; pigment slightly visible in pereonites 4 and 5. Cephalothorax 1.3 times longer than wide and 0.8 times the length of pereonite 1; rostral process shorter than lateral angles. Pleon shorter than pleotelson, 1.7 times longer than pereonite 7, and as long as basal wide; pleonite 1 free, pleonites 2–5 fused; pleonite 6 dorsally with deep medial incision on distal margin.

Antennula ( Fig. 11B View FIGURE 11 ) first article three times longer than article 2 and 3 together; article 3 narrower than previous ones, distal margin with three simple setae. Flagellum with five articles, longer than two last articles of peduncle; article 2 with one aesthetasc, article 3 with three aesthetascs; article 4 and 5 with two aesthetascs, last article tiny with row of simple setae.

Antenna ( Fig. 11C View FIGURE 11 ) peduncle having article 2 most robust, 0.7 times the length of articles 3–5 together; article 4 with three simple setae on distal margin; article 5 with row of simple seta and plumose sensory setae. Flagellum with 5 articles, article 1 rudimentary; last four minute with numerous simple setae.

Mandible ( Fig. 11D View FIGURE 11 ) incisor acute, longer than palp. Palp of three articles, article 1 shorter than article 3, with one short seta; article 2 long with sub-distal seta; article 3 almost half the length of article 2, distally with comb-like longitudinal row of nine robust setae.

Maxilla ( Fig. 11E View FIGURE 11 ) acute, with 10 teeth.

Maxilliped ( Fig. 11F View FIGURE 11 ) palp of 2 articles, apical one minute; article 1 with one proximal seta and six distal ones, and laterally with one seta; article 2 with three apical setae.

Pereopod 1 (Fig. 12A) subchelate; carpus triangular, with distal group of seven simple setae; propodus oval, 1.7 times longer than wide, palm (Fig. 12B) straight with cuticular convex ridge, margin bordered by simple setae, proximally ended by small lobe, and mesial margin with continuous row of 17 simple setae.

Pereopods 2–3 (Fig. 12C, E) similar in shape and size; Pereopod 2 (Fig. 12C) basis 2.5 times longer than wide, carpus triangular with six distal setae; propodus oval, 1.9 times longer than wide, palm (Fig. 12D) slightly convex with simple seta and eight stout sensory spines. Pereopod 3 (Fig. 12E) basis three times longer than wide, propodus oval, two times longer than wide, palm (Fig. 12F) with seven stout sensory spines.

Pereopod 4 (Fig. 12G) basis 2.5 times longer than wide, ischium with distal group of three simple setae, carpus rectangular, 1.6 times longer than wide, with long seta as well three sensory spines on internal margin; propodus cylindrical, three times longer than wide, internal margin with three sensory spines, two proximal and one apical.

Pereopods 5–7 (Fig. 12H–J) similar in shape and size to pereopod 4; carpus rectangular, 1.6 times longer than wide in pereopod 5 and 2.2 times longer than wide in pereopod 6 and 7, ventral margin with three sensory spines, mesial margin of pereopod 7 (Fig. 12J) with setulated scales; propodus cylindrical, 3.3 times longer than wide in pereopod 5 and four times longer than wide in pereopd 6 and 7, internal margin with three sensory spines and scales.
