Type material. CHINA, Yunnan: Holotype ♂, Nanlahe (21°36′N, 101°36′E), Bubeng Town , Mengla County, 652 m, 12.VII.2013, leg. SR Liu, YQ Wang & KJ Teng, slide No. YS 20194 GoogleMaps . Paratype: 1♀, same data as holotype except dated 11.VII.2013, slide No. YS 20198 GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to L. tenebrosellus and L. landryi , but it can be separated from them in the male genitalia by the cucullus with a spiniform seta at ventroapical corner and the sacculus with an apical process, which are absent in the latter two species. It also differs from L. tenebrosellus in the female genitalia by the posterior margin of the antrum smooth, which is produced medially in the latter species.

Description. Adult ( Figs 3 View FIGURES 1‒4 , 6 View FIGURES 5‒7 ). Wingspan 14.0–15.5 mm.

Head: black, tinged with purple, with orange-white scales laterally. Antenna orange white. Labial palpus dark brown, mixed with orange-white scales on inner surface, third palpomere slightly shorter than second palpomere.

Thorax: Thorax and tegula black, tinged with purple. Forewing with costal margin slightly arched, apex rounded, termen oblique; ground color black; discal stigma sub-rounded, orange white; discocellular stigma smaller, orange white; costal spot orange white, placed at distal 1/3; dorsal spot larger, orange white, placed at distal 1/4; subterminal line orange white, curved outward; fringe greyish black; R 5 reaching before apex. Hindwing and fringe greyish brown; fringe with an orange-white basal line; M 3 and CuA 1 stalked for basal 2/5 length of CuA 1. Legs pale yellow on dorsal surface, blackish brown on ventral surface except pale yellow on mid tibia as well as at apices of fore and hind tibiae and at apex of each tarsomere.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 8‒11 ). Uncus wide at base, narrowed to basal 2/3, distal 1/3 uniformly narrow, rounded at apex. Gnathos with median process wide at base, narrowed to distal 1/3 where it curved at a right angle, thereafter abruptly narrowed to a pointed apex. Valva broad basally, slightly narrowed to cucullus; cucullus widened to obtuse apex, with a spiniform seta at ventroapical corner, obliquely straight on costal margin; costa slightly convex basally; sacculus straight, wide at base, obviously narrowed to basal 2/3, then uniformly slender, apically with a short, setose papillary process bearing an apical spiniform seta. Vinculum narrow. Juxta sub-rounded, concave at middle on anterior margin; with a large, semiovate flap arising from below posterior margin on dorsal surface, shorter than juxta; posterior lobe sub-triangular. Aedeagus slightly longer than valva, basal 2/5 broad, distal 3/5 slightly narrowed toward apex, strongly curved basally, with dense granules in vesica; cornutus large, needle-like, longer than 1/4 length of aedeagus, placed distally.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 12‒14 ). Apophyses posteriores about 5/4 length of apophyses anteriores; apophyses anteriores with a small ramification before middle. Antrum membranous except sclerotized along posterior margin. Ductus bursae broad, twisted, weakly sclerotized in posterior 2/5, membranous in anterior 3/5, with numerous conic spines spreading from posterior 1/5 to about anterior 1/3; ductus seminalis slender, arising from about middle of ductus bursae, with dense granules on inner wall ( Fig. 13a View FIGURES 12‒14 ). Corpus bursae ovate, granulose; signum sub-rounded, serrate along margins, with a rectangular median groove more than 1/3 width of signum, placed at posterior 1/3.

Abdomen: Female eighth abdominal sternite deeply concave at middle on posterior margin.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin semiovatus , referring to the semiovate flap of the juxta in the male genitalia.
