Academy of Sciences, sifted litter littoral rainforest, collection code: BLF3200”. Paratypes: same data, 40 females, 50 males same except “Province d`Antsiranana, Montagne des Français, 7.2 km 142° SE Antsiranana (=Diego Suarez) Elev 180m 22–28 Feb 2001 12°19´22´´S 49°20´17´´E colls: Fisher, Griswold et al. Calif. Locus typicus. “Forêt d`Orangea” (12°15´32´´S 49°22´29´´E).

Etymology. Name is derived from the Latin word meaning “inspirational”.

Diagnosis. See the diagnosis for the Microphylacinus gen. nov.

Description. Measurements. Body—length 3.8–4.6 mm; eb/pb = 1.1–1.2; el/pl = 1.7–2.2. Clypeus—ew/ed = 3.0–3.2. Antennae—al/apl = 1.4–1.5; al/was3 = 13.7–14.4; as3/as2 = 1.4–1.6; as5/was5 = 1.2. Maxillary palpmp/as3 = 1.1–1.3. Pronotum—pl/pb ca. 0.8; pl/lapa = 13.0–13.5; bp/lbp ca. 80. Elytra—el/eb = 1.1–1.4. Scutellum —pkp/st = 5.6–5.7. Metaventrite—cavl/metl = 0.8–1.1; ml/mw = ca. 5.0. Abdomen—pav/pm = 2.2–2.7. Legsftibl/ftibw = 5.3–6.2; ffeml/ffemw = 3.3–3.8. Tarsi—tars1/2 = 1.6–1.7. Female genitalia—lfb/lo ca. 5.6; lp/tc ca. 1.2; tc/2bc1 ca. 0.4; bc1/lc1 ca. 3.6; lc1/lc2 ca. 0.3; c3/c3-c4 ca. 0.6; c4-c3/c1 ca. 0.3. Male genitalia—lmb/la ca. 4.2.

Head. Punctures as in Fig. 43 View FIGURES 41 – 43 A. Fronto-clypeal suture forms a distinct sulcus. Antennae relatively short, thick. 3rd antennomere moderately short. 5th antennomere elongate.

Pronotum. Punctures as in Fig. 43 View FIGURES 41 – 43 B. Pronotum broad with anterior angles extending anteriorly. Lateral margin very narrow. Sides of pronotum parallel from base to mid point.

Elytra shiny, moderately broad. Punctures as in Fig. 43 View FIGURES 41 – 43 C, D. Elytral base strait or slightly arcuate. Elytral humeri rounded, protruding laterally. Punctures in rows, large (distance punctures about 0,5 of diameter). Intervals 1, 3, 5 and 7 strongly convex. Tubercles coarse (oblong), visible on whole elytral surface. Pseudopleuron with coarse punctures.

Prosternal process depressed, flat on apex.

Metaventrite between insertions of mid and hind coxae relatively long. Metepisternum rectangular, long.

Legs with preapical tarsomere reduced in both sexes. Tibia slightly broadened towards apex. Femora slender. Male protarsi distinctly broadened. Male protibia broadened, with longitudinal depression on inner side ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 11 – 19. 11 ). Male metatibia straight ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 11 – 19. 11 ).

Female genitalia. Paraproct longer then coxites. Coxites triangular, first sclerite broad and very short, distance between base of sclerites 3 and 4 moderately long. Fourth sclerite longitudinal. Bursa copulatrix with no sclerite, spermatheca branched from base, with narrow ducts, spermathecal accessory gland present.

Distribution. The North coast of Madagascar ( Fig. 47 View FIGURE 47 ).
