Xizicus (Eoxizicus) furcutus Jiao & Shi View in CoL sp. nov.

(Fig. 2)

Male. Body small. Fastigium frontis moderately inclined, fastigium verticis conical, apex obtusely rounded with a longitudinal sulcus on the disc. Eyes oval, protruding. Apical segment of maxillary palpus as long as subapical one, apex slightly swollen.

Pronotum short, posterior transversal sulcus distinct on nearly middle part, metazona slightly raised; anterior margin moderately protruding, posterior margin obtusely rounded; lateral lobe of pronotum longer than high; humeral sinus shallow. Tegmina longer, surpassing apices of postfemora, apices obtusely rounded; hind wings slightly longer than tegmina.

All femora without spines on ventral surface. Forecoxa with a spine, apex pointed; foretibiae with 5 spines and 6 spines on inner and outer sides of ventral surface separately (including one pair of apical spines); tibial tympana open on both sides, elliptical. Mesotibiae with 5 spines and 6 spines on internal and external sides of ventral surface separately. Posttibiae with 29–31 spines on inner and outer sides of dorsal surface separately, with one pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs.

The posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with one pair of long hind processes, separated from base and curved outside, apices rounded. Cerci simple, slightly curved inwards, with basal area robust, apical half wide, apices with one shallow notch separated into two lobes, superior branch broad, inferior branch small, apices rounded. Subgenital plate nearly rectangle, basal area straight, middle part raised ventrad, posterior margin protruding posteriorly. Styli long and stout, apices subacute on apical area of both lateral margins of subgenital plate.

Coloration. Body green. Eyes reddish brown. Fastigium verticis with a pair of brown stripes. Dorsum of pronotum with a pair of intermittent longitudinal lateral light brown stripes. Genicular lobes of postfemora with a black spot, spines and spurs of posttibiae dark brown.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements (mm). Body (from apex of fastigium verticis to posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite): ♂10.0–10.8; pronotum: ♂4.1–4.7; tegmina: ♂16.5–17.0; postfemora: ♂10.0–11.0.

Type material. Holotype: ♂, Yashicun, Baisha, Hainan, 21 May 2014, collected by Jiao Jiao. Paratype: 1♂, Yashicun, Baisha, Hainan, 19 May 2014, collected by Jiao Jiao.

Discussion. The new species is different from the known species of the genus Xizicus in: the centre of male tenth abdominal tergite with one pair of long hind processes, separated from base and curved outside; cerci slightly curved inwards, with basal area robust, apical half wide, apices with one shallow notch separated into two lobes, superior branch broad, inferior branch small, apices rounded.

The new species is similar to Euxiphidiopsis quadridentata Liu & Zhang, 2000 in appearance, but it differs from the latter in: styli long and stout, apices subacute on apices of both lateral margins of subgenital plate, without any teeth.

Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the apices of male cerci with one shallow notch.
