Male. Body moderately large for the genus. Head stout and short, fastigium frontis vertical, fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded with a thin longitudinal furrow. Apical segment of maxillary palpus as long as subapical one, apex slightly swollen. Eyes oval, protruding.
Pronotum shorter, anterior and median transversal sulci indistinct, posterior transversal sulcus distinct; anterior margin straight, posterior margin rounded, lateral lobes longer than deep; humeral sinus shallow. Thoracic auditory spiracle comparatively large, oval. Tegmina longer, surpassing apices of postfemora, anterior and posterior margins parallel, apices rounded; hind wings longer than tegmina.
All femora without spines on ventral surface. Forecoxa with a spine, tibial tympana open on both sides, foretibiae and mesotibiae with 5 spines on inner and outer sides of ventral surface separately. Posttibiae with 24–28 spines on internal and external sides of dorsal surface separately, bearing a pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs; genicular lobes with apices rounded.
Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with 1 shallow concavity in middle, which nearly trapezoid, the lateral lobes slightly elongated posteriorly. Cercus base stout, nearly cylindrical, subapical part with one arched fold on dorsal margin of middle area, apical area depressed, apices rounded. Subgenital plate almost quadrate, basal area with median sulcus, posterior margin moderately straight, centre slightly concave. Styli short and stout, apices subacute on lateral margins of subapical area of subgenital plate.
Coloration. Body green. Eyes brown. Pronotum with a pair of dark brown stripes on posterior margin of disc. Spines of posttibiae on dorsal surface blackish brown, apices of spurs light brown.
Female. Similar to male with following exceptions: tenth abdominal tergite short, the lateral margins protruding posteriorly. Cerci conical, apices thin and acute. Subgenital plate with two deep concavities at base, near middle part with a pair of spine-shaped processes on ventral surface, apices subacute; lateral margins rounded and expended, posterior margin weakly concave in middle. Ovipositor thin, long and straight; dorsal and ventral margins smooth, apices of ventral valvulae hook-shaped, basal part with a pair of unconspicuous processes ventrad.
Measurements (mm). Body (from apex of fastigium verticis to posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite): ♂13.7–14.2, ♀14.7; pronotum: ♂5.1–5.4, ♀4.9; tegmina: ♂23.8–24.2, ♀25.1; postfemora: ♂12.8–13.0, ♀13.1; ovipositor (from base of subgenital plate to apex of ovipositor): 15.3.
Type material. Holotype: ♂, Bawangling, Changjiang, Hainan, 30 May 2014, collected by Jiao Jiao. Paratypes: 1♂ 1♀, Bawangling, Changjiang, Hainan, 28–30 May 2014, collected by Jiao Jiao.
Discussion. The new species is very similar to Xizicus (Axizicus) sergeji ( Gorochov, 1998) , but it differs from the latter in: pronotum with a pair of dark brown stripes on posterior margin of disc; male tenth abdominal tergite with 1 shallow concavity in middle of posterior margin, which nearly trapezoid, the lateral lobes slightly elongated posteriorly; cercus subapical part with one arced fold on dorsal margin of middle area, apical area depressed; female subgenital plate with two deep concavities at base, near middle part with a pair of spine-shaped processes ventrad, apices subacute.
Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from female subgenital plate with a pair of spine-shaped processes ventrad.
