7. Paraxizicus singulus View in CoL sp. nov.

Male. Body small, slender. Fastigium verticis short and stout, apex blunt, furrowed in midline. Eyes oval, obviously protruding anteriorly. Apical segment of maxillary palpi equal to subapical one in length, apex enlarged. Pronotum comparatively short, anterior margin slightly straight, posterior margin rounded; posterior horizontal sulcus distinct, metazona slightly flattened, lateral lobe longer than high, humeral sinus indistinct. Thoracic auditory spiracle comparatively large, oval.

Ventral margins of femora of all legs smooth, without spine. Procoxa with a spine, protibia with 5 and 4 long spines on separately internal and external sides on ventral margin, and a pair of ventral apical spurs; tibial tympana open on internal and external sides, oval. Mesotibiae with 4 and 5 long spines separately on internal and external sides of ventral margins. Posttibiae with 23–26 spines on internal and external sides of dorsal margin, and one pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs, genicular lobi with apices obtuse.

Tegmina long, surpassing apices of postfemora, anterior and posterior margins slightly parallel, apices rounded. Hind wings longer than tegmina, apices rounded angular.

Ninth abdominal tergite broad. Centre of posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with a short process, apex asymmetric, right lateral margin slightly longer than left one; lateral ventral apices of tenth abdominal tergite protruding outerwards, angular; membranous area comparatively narrow. Ventral margin of two thirds basal area of cerci extended internally, flake, apices protruding afterwards; apical third area of cerci forceps-shaped, slightly curved internally, dorsal branch comparatively broad, apex obtuse, ventral branch thin, apex acute. Subgenital plate slightly longer, posterior margin protruding; styli conical on subapex.

Female. Appearance of female is similar to male. Cerci conical, apices acute. Ovipositor with base stout, apical half thin, slightly curved upwards, dorsal and ventral margins smooth, dorsal valvulae longer than ventral ones, apices acute. Subgenital plate with basal half broad rectangular, apical half angular, apex thin and slightly excavate.

Body green, eyes yellowish brown. Posterior margin of tegmina light brown, with some brown spots. Apical half of claws, spines and spurs of posttibiae brown, apical area of genicular lobi black.

Measurements (mm). Body: 310.0, Ƥ9.5; pronotum: 33.5, Ƥ3.7; tegmen: 316.0, Ƥ19.0; postfemur: 312.0, Ƥ12.0; ovipositor: Ƥ10.0.

Holotype: male, Shangyong, Mengla, Yunnan, China, 2 August 2007, collected by Fu-Ming Shi and Shao-Li Mao. Paratype: 1 female, other data as the holotype. Other specimens: 4 males and 1 female, Menglun, Mengla, Yunnan, China, 19 August 2007, collected by Guo Zheng.

Remarks. The new species is very similar to Paraxizicus forcipa ( Shi & Chen, 2002) , but it differs from the latter in: 1. centre of posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite with a short process, apex asymmetric, right lateral area slightly longer than left one; 2. ventral margin of two thirds basal area of male cerci extended internally, flake, apices protruding afterwards.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. The name of the new species refers to the morphology of male’s tenth abdominal tergite.
