Revised description. Shell moderately large, solid, slender fusiform; apical angle 30–35°. Protoconch paucispiral. Teleoconch of eleven whorls. Early teleoconch whorls with narrow indistinctly beaded subsutural cord, weakly concave mid-portion with strongly opisthocline axial riblets, with swollen abapical ends forming suprasutural row of beads. On fifth whorl sub- and suprasutural cords loose beads becoming smooth, rounded cords, separated by concave mid-portion. Faint spiral threads on entire shell surface, most prominent on concave area. Suture narrowly impressed, linear. Last whorl ~65% of total height. Subsutural collar broad, rounded, moderately well delimited. Subsutural ramp narrow. Shoulder high-placed, narrowly inflated, weakly angular. Base weakly angled, poorly delimited, moderately constricted. Siphonal fasciole poorly delimited, weakly rounded, slightly twisted. Weak spiral cords on base, strengthened perifasciolar cord, cords well developed below, of alternate strength over fasciole. Sculpture of very weak spirals on subsutural ramp and base, stronger over fasciole. Aperture moderately narrow, pyriform. Outer lip not thickened, smooth within. anal sinus moderately narrow, deep, asymmetrically Ushaped, with apex mid-ramp; Siphonal canal moderately long, broad, narrow, shallowly notched at tip. Columella very weakly excavated, slightly twisted at fasciole, smooth. Columellar and parietal callus thin, adherent, poorly delimited from base, forming narrow rim.
Discussion. This species is morphologically very close to Perrona lydiae ( Hoernes & Auinger, 1891) , but differs in its more slender shape, higher spire and higher, slowly contracting base. Moreover, P. lydiae has a slightly gradate spire. The available specimens derive from clay and seem to have dwelled in middle to outer neritic environments. Perrona lydiae , in contrast, is typically found in inner neritic environments. Both species may thus form closely related species that became ecologically split. An early Miocene occurrence from the Ottnangian of Kaltenbachgraben in Germany, described by Steininger (1973), represents a very slender fusiform species with a very long siphonal canal. The specimen is surely not conspecific with Perrona oliviae ( Hoernes & Auinger, 1891) , which is only known from middle Miocene localities.
Paleoenvironment. Probably middle to outer neritic environments, based on the occurrence at Lăpugiu de Sus ( Romania). The occurrence at Borský Mikuláš ( Slovakia), in contrast, points to inner neritic settings ( Švagrovský 1981a).
Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (middle Miocene): Vienna Basin: Borský Mikuláš ( Slovakia) ( Švagrovský 1982); Pannonian Basin: Budapest, Budapest /Illés street, Letkés ( Hungary) ( Schafarzik 1903; Csepreghy-Meznerics 1953; Kókay 1996); Krka Basin: Dolenja Brezovica ( Slovenia) ( Mikuž 2009); Făget Basin: Lăpugiu de Sus, Buituri ( Romania) ( Moisescu 1955a; hoc opus).
