Chlorocoma Turner View in CoL (Figs 773–798)
Chlorocoma View in CoL is widespread throughout southern Australia. Twentytwo species are listed for this genus in Australia of which, the eggs of three species, are described. The eggs of the Chlorocoma spp. described here are very similar and difficult to distinguish. All have the planar surfaces of the characteristic green geometrine pillbox shaped egg with slightly rounded rims. C. vertumnaria Guenée View in CoL and C. externa View in CoL are almost identical in shape and general morphology. The eggs of C. dichloraria Guenée View in CoL are more elliptical in shape and the chorion is regularly pitted. The eggs of C. assimilis Lucas View in CoL , C. haplochlora Meyrick and C. melocrossa Meyrick ( McFarland 1988) View in CoL all have very similarly shaped eggs to those described here.
