Shape: Broad, bluntly ovoid, anterior pole truncated, much wider than posterior pole,
polar profile subcircular, posterior pole subacute; dorsoventrally flattened, wedgeshaped in profile (Figs 442, 443 & 445).
Characteristics: Egg marked on anterior pole only with hexagonal cells outlined by aeropyles at cell junctions only (Figs 443, 445 & 446). Micropylar cell walls narrow, cells recessed (Figs. 444). Aeropyles elevated, domed, openings moderately large, present only on anterior pole (Figs 443, 444 & 446). Chorion smooth, undulating (Figs 446 & 447), except chorion of rosette cells, rough, wrinkled (Fig. 444).
