This species was found on three seamounts and also on the southern slope of New Caledonia ( Tables 1, 2) at depths of 276–550 m ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ). It is reported here the first time from the Norfolk Ridge, although it was already noted from New Caledonia ( Laurin 1997). Basiliola lucida was originally described from off Japan ( Hatai 1940; Cooper 1959). Recently it was also found in the Fiji region (Bitner 2008).
