Simulium (Simulium) pahangense Takaoka & Davies, 1995: 150  –155 (Female).

[The pupa and larva temporarily associated with the female of S. (D.) pahangense  proved to be those of S. (S.) yongi Takaoka & Davies (Takaoka & Davies, 1997)  ].

Sulcicnephia unidens Takaoka & Davies, 1995: 10  –13 (Pupa and larva). Synonymized by Takaoka & Adler (1997).

Simulium (Daviesellum) pahangense: Takaoka & Adler, 1997: 19  –24 (Female, male, pupa and larva).

This species is characterized in the female by the dark stout spines on the paraproct; in the male by the elongate coxite, which is, however, shorter than the style; in the pupa by the boot-shaped cocoon and six short unpigmented gill filaments; and in the larva by the hypostoma with 12 or 13 anterior teeth and the posterior circlet with about 460 rows of up to 53 hooks per row (Takaoka and Davies, 1995).

This species is also distributed in Thailand ( Takaoka and Adler, 1997). It is limited to aquatic habitats in torrential water in cascades or waterfalls.

The female blood feeding habits and other biological aspects of this species are unknown.
