Scaphoideus nigrigenatus Li, 1990 View in CoL

( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 C, H, M, 11A–G)

Scaphoideus nigrigenatus Li, 1990: 97 View in CoL ; Li et al., 2011: 231; Chen et al., 2012: 91.

Body length (including tegmen): Male 6.2–6.5mm; Female 6.4–6.7mm.

Coloration and structure ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C, H, M) as in S. maculatus Li , but vertex with spot at middle of anterior margin posteriorly fused with band between eyes, forewings with two reflexed cross veins between outer anteapical cell and costal margin, basal reflexed vein basad of outer anteapical cell ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 H).

Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral aspect longer than broad, tapering posteriorly, with two subapical tufts of long macrosetae in addition to scattered macrosetae at apical half. Subgenital plate triangular, longer than 3 times width at base, lateral margin nearly straight, with uniseriate row of six macrosetae along lateral margin of basal half. Styles long and thin, with broad anterior part and well developed preapical lobe; apophysis very long and straight, with several fine setae at base. Connective with stem 2 times length of arms; connective processes parallel, tapered apically in dorsal view and slightly curved dorsally in lateral view. Aedeagus with well developed dorsal apodeme, shaft robust at basal 2/3, abruptly tapered at apical 1/3, with a pair of lateral processes at apex; gonopore apical.

Material examined. 2♂♂, Guangxi, Napo, Defu , 4. iv.1998, Huang Fusheng (IOZ).

Distribution. China (Guangxi, Hubei, Guizhou).

Remarks. This species was described by Li (1990) from Sichuan based on seven male specimens. It externally resembles Scaphoideus albomaculatus , but can be readily distinguished by the narrowed connective processes and aedeagus with a pair of apical lateral processes.
