Type material. Holotype, male: Madagascar, Fianarantsoa, Ranomafana National Park , ex Cryptocarya branch, 28. September 2012, B. Jordal, leg. Paratype (1): same data as holotype. Holo- and paratype are deposited in ZMUB .

Diagnosis. Eyes large, glassy, separated above by 1.2–1.3 × their width; male interstriae 1 and 7–9 with confused rows of truncated setae on (or near) declivity.

Description, male. Length 1.2–1.3 mm, 2.7–2.8 × as long as wide; color yellowish to reddish brown (not fully mature). Frons flat, smooth, nearly glabrous; antennal scapus short, rounded, tuft of setae shorter than length of club; club with two strongly procurved sutures, basal segment shiny. Eyes glassy, large, separated above by 1.2–1.3 × their width. Pronotum asperate on anterior half, asperities scattered and small near anterior margin. Elytral interstriae 2–6, mainly on declivity, with uniseriate rows of truncated setae, interstriae 1 and in part 7–9 with multiple confused rows; surface smooth on disc, finely granulated on declivity. Protibiae with one lateral and two apical tiny denticles.

Etymology. Composed by the feminine nominative adjective oculata, meaning possession of eyes, and the genitive form of vitrium, meaning glass, referring to the large and bright eyes of this species.

Distribution and biology. Madagascar. Only known from the type locality, breeding in the bark of a Cryptocarya branch, 3 cm in diameter.
