Parerigone aurea Brauer, 1898: 540 View in CoL . Holotype male (NHMW, Herting 1974: 143). Type locality: Russia, Primorskiy Kray, Khasan District, Narva Peninsula.— Herting & Dely-Draskovits, 1993: 417 (Palaearctic catalogue).— Chao et al., 1998: 2167 ( China).— O’Hara et al., 2009: 131 (Chinese catalogue).— Shima, 2011: 677 (notes).
Diagnosis. Medium-sized flies with dense golden yellow or pale yellow pruinosity. Vertex about 0.2 of head width; gena about 0.4 of eye height; parafacial slightly narrower than 1st flagellomere at mid-height, the latter about 2.5 times as long as pedicel; 2nd aristomere about twice as long as wide; palpus reddish yellow. Anatergite bare; thoracic hairs yellowish or pale yellowish white; 3 postsutural acrostichal setae; scutellum with 4 pairs of marginal setae; basicosta dark brown; legs black, tibia reddish brown; mid tibia with 2 anterodorsal and 1 ventral setae; hind tibia with 2 preapical dorsal setae. Abdomen with pale yellow hairs ventrally.
