Material examined. Syntype sex? Lygaeus degeni Distant , with the following labels: 1. Museum circular red-margined label with “ TYPE ” pr; 2. “ Lygaeus degeni type Dist.” hwr; 3. “ Abyssinia. Taddecha Mullka. Degen 1902-222, Feb, 8, 1902” pr; 4. “ Cosmopleurus fulvipes (Dallas) det. J. Deckert 1995” hwr.

Remarks. Originally described from an unspecified number of specimens from " Abyssinia; Taddecha, Mullka (Degen).".
