Afrotropical: 1) Madagascar ( Uilenberg et al. 1979, Kolonin 2009).

The first description of the female of Haemaphysalis tiptoni is in Nuttall & Warburton (1915), under the name Haemaphysalis elongata , as explained in Hoogstraal (1953a).
