Oriental: 1) Indonesia (west of Wallace’s Line), 2) Malaysia, 3) Thailand ( Apanaskevich et al. 2021, Erieenor et al. 2021).

Dermacentor falsosteini was confused with Dermacentor steini , but also with Dermacentor auratus and Dermacentor compactus prior to its description by Apanaskevich et al. (2021).
