Palearctic: 1) China (north) ( Kolonin 2009, Chen et al. 2010).

Camicas et al. (1998) treated Ixodes moscharius as an Oriental species, but Guglielmone et al. (2014, 2020) regarded the Tibetan localities where this tick has been collected as part of the Palearctic Zoogeographic Region, an opinion also accepted here.
