Afrotropical: 1) South Africa ( Walker et al. 2000, Horak et al. 2018).

Prior to its description in Walker et al. (2000), specimens of Rhipicephalus warburtoni had been identified as atypical Rhipicephalus appendiculatus , Rhipicephalus sp. near pravus , Rhipicephalus punctatus , Rhipicephalus sp. near punctatus , and Rhipicephalus sp. near warburtoni ( Walker et al. 2000, Horak et al. 2018).
