Record from Thailand. South-eastern Andaman Sea, next to Phuket Island ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).

Habitat and depth range. Marine, depth: 19–60 m ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002) .

Distribution. This species is distributed from the Indian Ocean (Hansen 1910,1912; Pillai 1964, 1973), South China Sea ( Ii 1964), Japan ( Fukuoka & Murano 1997) to the Andaman Sea ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).

Remarks. Nouvel (1971) divided Anchialina typica into two subspecies: Anchialina typica typica and A. typica orientalis based on the armature on the exopod of the third male pleopod. A. typica orientalis can be distinguished from A. typica typica by the following characteristics: in A. typica orientalis , (1) the third male pleopod bears naked setae on the outside of the fifth to seventh or eighth segments and (2) an enlarged outer lobe is present on the third article of the third male pleopod, while in A. typica typica , (1) the setae are present on the outside of the fourth to sixth segments and (2) the outer lobe is absent on the third article of the third male pleopod.
