Etymology. The subgenus is named in honour of the late István Andrássy (1927–2012), the world-renowned Nematoda taxonomist.
Type species. Dichogaster frickei Michaelsen, 1912 through original designation as Dichogaster (Malawia) frickei Michaelsen, 1912 by Csuzdi (2010).
Included species. Dichogaster (Andrassyona) frickei Michaelsen, 1912 , Dichogaster (Andrassyona) taborana Michaelsen, 1913 , Dichogaster (Andrassyona) ufipana Michaelsen, 1913 .
