Anterior margin of frons almost evenly curved, distinctly concave; head strongly depressed on antero-median part. Surface shining, covered with fine and long yellow setae. Mandibles long straight, distinctly dilated medially. Last segments of the maxillary and labial palpi dark brown, slender, 4 times as long as broad, flattened. Aedeagus: Lateral lobes broad, square-edged, rounded posteriorly and ending in a ridge dorsally. median lobe with a sharp ridge dorsally

Female: Unknown.

Measurements: TL: 6.7 mm; TL-H: 5.9 mm; HL: 1.7 mm; HW: 1.7 mm; LP: 1.8 mm.

Type material: Holotype 3 ( NHMB): “NE India, Meghalaya, SW of Cherrapunjee, 25°14’N 91°40’E, 900 m, P. Pacholátko, 21–25.VI.07 ”. “ Holotype Lamellipalpus atripalpis n.sp. Brancucci & Geiser 08” [red printed label].

Etymology: The name was selected because of the unusual, completely dark palpi and antennae on a body that is completely testaceous brown.

Affinities: This species can be distinguished from all other known species by the testaceous brown and subparallel body, and by the maxillary and labial palpi as well as the antennae which are completely dark brown, but also by the absence of distinctly visible costae on the elytra. Furthermore, the 4th– 9th antennal joints are more than twice as long as broad.

Distribution: NE India (Meghalaya).
