HOLOTYPE: AMNH 202277 About AMNH , adult male, collected on Tau Island , 14.15S, 169.27W (Times Atlas), Manua Islands, American Samoa, on 21 December 1923, by Rollo H. Beck on the Whitney South Sea Expedition (no. 10878). GoogleMaps

COMMENTS: Mayr gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description and the range as the Manua Islands of Ofu, Olosega and Tau. Paratypes are: Olosega (= Olosinga , as on label), AMNH 202227–202249 About AMNH , 11 males, 11 females, 1 sex?, 31 December 1923–7 January 1924 ; Ofu Island , AMNH 202253–202266 About AMNH , nine males, five females, 7–9 January 1924 ; Tau Island , AMNH 202267–202276 About AMNH , 202278– 202313 About AMNH , 224288 About AMNH , 25 males, 22 females, 14–29 December 1923.
