TYPE MATERIAL — Holotype, ♂, Papua New Guinea. Province Madang, Wanang 3 station (-5.22767, 145.0797), 175m, 21-22/09/2012, leg Basset, Plot 1, understorey; Malaise - MAL-WAN01-D15, P15-2029 ( MNHN). Paratypes. Indonesia. 1♂ New Guinea, SE Mamai Pltn, E. of Port Glasgow, 150m, 13.II.1965, R. Straatman, Ligth Trap, Bishop ( BPBM); Papua New Guinea. 1♂ Province Madang, Wanang (-5.22767, 145.0797), 175m, 22-23/09/2012, coll. by Basset, understorey, FIT-WAN 2286( MNHN).
DESCRIPTION — MALE: Body length 1.9-2.4 mm. Head and mesosoma dark castaneous; metasoma castaneous or dark castaneous. Head (Figure 44). Mandible with three apical teeth. Clypeus with median lobe subtrapezoidal; median tooth rounded; median carina complete apically and straight in profile. Frons strongly coriaceous. Mesosoma. Pronotal disc with anterior margin ecarinate, strongly coriaceous. Metapectal-propodeal complex with lateral and posterior areas partly carinate. Metasoma (Figure 232). Tergal process absent. Hypopygium (Figure 232) with lateral stalk triangular; posterior margin weakly sinuous. Genitalia (Figures 417-421). Basal margin of paramere with rounded projection. Aedeagal dorsal body with apex lower than parameral apex, wider medially, narrowing abruptly apicad; apex with long and trilobed projection on ventral region. Aedeagal ventral ramus with apex as high as aedeagal dorsal body apex; apical region with digitiform projections. Genital ring slightly produced, each half straight in dorsal view.

ETYMOLOGY — The noun in apposition mambu means bamboo in Tok Pisin.
