Anthaxia electra View in CoL was described from two females labeled: ”Abachaus, Otjiwarongo Distr., S. W. Africa, G. Hobolm coll., 1953” (holotype deposited in ZSMC). Having studied both holotype and paratype (MNCN) and the Kerremans´ holotype (by monotypy) (MRAC), I find A. electra View in CoL to be conspecific with A. congolana View in CoL and a new junior subjective synonym.

(1 ex. in ZMHB); Omaruru (Epako), 14.–16.iii.2003, Werner & Smrz leg. (19 ex. in NMPC); 150 km E of Swakopmund, 1500 m, iv. 1995, M. & O. Niehuis leg. (1 ex. in NMPC).
