Material examined. Brazil, São Paulo: 1 ♀ ov, CCDB 5060 View Materials , Ubatuba, Ilha Vitória , colls. F. Mantelatto et al., 20.x.2012 .

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Piauí, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Bahia, São Paulo) ( Melo 1996; Dall’Occo et al. 2004; Mantelatto et al. 2004; Almeida & Coelho 2008; Coelho et al. 2008).

Remarks. Previous records on the coast of São Paulo include Ubatuba ( Mantelatto et al. 2004b) and Ilha Vitória ( Alves et al. 2012a). This species now belongs to the new genus Amphithrax ( Windsor & Felder 2017) . Sequences accession number (GenBank): CCDB 5060—16S ( MF490196 View Materials ), COI ( MF490102 View Materials ) ( Mantelatto et al. 2018a).
