Material examined. None.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Pará, Pernambuco, São Paulo) ( Coelho 1997; Bertini et al. 2004).

Remarks. Previous records in São Paulo include Ubatuba ( Coelho 1997; Bertini et al. 2004). The small size and its proximity to Rathbunixa sayana ( Coelho 1997 as P. sayana ) make it difficult to recognize them. Also, its taxonomic status should be evaluated in the future.
