Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, USA (Florida), Gulf of Mexico, Antilles, Venezuela, and Brazil (Amapá, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Sergipe, Espírito Santo, São Paulo) (Melo 1998; Melo & Veloso 2005; Alves et al. 2006, 2012a; Mendonça et al. 2019).

Remarks. Previous records in São Paulo include Ilha Vitória ( Alves et al. 2006, 2012a).
