Habit and habitat:—Scattered on soil in coniferous forests.
Distribution:— CHINA: Liaoning province at elevations about 430 m.
Comments:— Spodocybe tomentosa is distinguished by its small basidiomata (pileus 1.5−3 cm diam.), brown to dark brown, with finely dense white tomentum pileus; small and ellipsoid basidiospores (3.3–4.9 × 2.2–3.8 μm, Q =1.22–1.55, Q m = 1.4), basidia usually 4-spored, and growing in coniferous forests. This taxon is known to occur in northeast China ( Xu et al. 2023).
