External morphology. Large, robust species. General color dark brown with numerous ivory to yellow markings; forewings dark brown, veins with small, linear ivory spots, large ivory spot at base of outer anteapical cell and at apex of inner anteapical cell, 2 large yellow spot on costa; mesonotum and pronotum dark brown with numerous yellow spots; crown yellow; eyes translucent ( Plate 2H); face yellow, clypeus with 2 brown, marginal, longitudinal stripes; clypellus with median longitudinal, brown stripe. Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view subtriangulate, caudodorsal margin with small ovate lobe, caudoventral process robust ( Fig. 124); right subgenital plate long, broad, setaceous apically ( Fig. 125); style robust about as long as aedeagus, apophysis with minute setae in distal 1/3 ( Figs. 126, 127), apophysis in detail ( Fig. 132); aedeagus long, elliptical flange subbasally on ventral margin, lobe subdistally on ventral margin, numerous setae along distal 2/3 of shaft ( Figs. 128, 129); connective broadly Y-shaped, median rib present, membranous on each side, stem narrow, moderately long ( Fig. 130); dorsal connective moderately long, strap-shaped ( Figs. 131).
Material examined. Holotype male. COLOMBIA: Amazonas , PNN, Amacayacu, Matamata, 3º4’S – 70º15’W, 150 m., 3/27/2000 – 3/27/2000, M. 3545, Red. A. Parente ( IAHC) GoogleMaps . Paratype. 1 male, same locality as holotype except 3º23’S – 70º6’W., 150m GoogleMaps ., 19 Sep 01–19 Sep 01, M.2263, Red. D. Chota ( MLBM) .
Etymology. The name is descriptive for the large, subbasal flange on the ventral margin of the aedeagus.
Remarks. This species is placed provisionally in Stalolidia with reservations General habitus characters given in general description place it in or near Carinolidia Nielson but the male genitalia features are closest to Stalolidia .
