Heza sericans Stål, 1859 View in CoL
( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27–34 )
Heza sericans View in CoL was described from Brazil ( Stål 1859), then recorded from French Guiana only by Villiers (1971). Subsequent publications on the genus ( Maldonado 1976, 1983, 1990) omitted this record, therefore it seemed advisable to confirm its presence in this country here. The species was redescribed by Maldonado (1976) and may be recognized by the diagnostic criteria of the conspicuous annuli on first antennal segment, veins of membrane being whitish basally, and the three-spined connexival segments.
Distribution. Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana (confirmed record), Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad, Venezuela.
Material examined. FRENCH GUIANA, Bélizon , xi.1997, leg. H. Gaspard, 1 female ( MNRJ) .
