Wingspan 13–16 mm in both sexes.

Diagnosis

This species is superficially similar to H. ishiyamanus (Matsumura) , but, it is distinguished by small size, distinct dark brown marking on forewing and presence of dots on abdomen, and it is differentiated by a shorter pointed spine in left valva than that of H. ishiyamaus .
