Eugenia velutina O. Berg (1857: 317) View in CoL . Type :— BRAZIL. Pohl 1024 (syntype B†; lectotype W!, designated here; isolectotype K!, W!).
Notes:—Berg (1857) examined two sheets of Pohl 1024 when he described Eugenia velutina View in CoL , one in B and another in W). Once the syntype of Berlin has been destroyed, the syntype of W has been designated here as the lectotype.
Distribution:—Atlantic Rainforest from Southern Bahia to Rio de Janeiro, in hillside forests.
