Genus Pterocolus Say View in CoL
Type species. Attelabus ovatus Fabricius, 1801 View in CoL , by monotypy.
Generic diagnosis. Pterocolus View in CoL can be recognized by the metallic blue-green to blue-black integument, by the distinct lateral carina on the pronotum with the prothoracic pleuron strongly excavated beneath it, by the antennae that are inserted close to the eyes, and by the elytra that is individually rounded apically.
