Remark. The genital preparation of the holotype is lost.

Diagnosis. Forewing length is 13 mm in males and 14 mm in females. Barsine specialis is a closest relative of B. asotoida , from which it differs by the dark brown forewing ground color with creamy white medial area connected to two longitudinal subbasal strokes, and the monotonous dark brown hindwing, while B. asotoida has the medial transverse line of forewing consisting of three large brown spots, the postmedial line presented as a narrow distal brown area, the presence of a broad creamy white subterminal area with broad but weak greyish longitudinal suffusion on veins, and whitish hindwing with two diffuse grey transverse lines. The male genitalia of B. specialis differ from those of B. asotoida by their shorter medial costal process, more robust distal saccular process directed more or less distally, and smaller subbasal and medial ventral diverticula. The female genitalia of B. specialis differ from those of B. asotoida by the much broader and more elongated antrum, and the broader and slightly longer appendix bursae.

Distribution. China (Yunnan) ( Fang 1991; 2000; Volynkin & Černý 2018c).
